Trapangsangke bike and boat tour

The Trapangsangke community is located in Kampot, on the coast of Cambodia. The community is home to a mangrove forest, which is an essential part of the coastal ecosystem. The mangroves provide critical habitat for fish, crabs, and other animals.

This afternoon half-day mountain bike tour will involve planting mangrove trees, watching the sunset, and seeing fishing boats heading out to sea. This is a spectacular view that you shouldn’t miss when you are in Kampot.

The Trapangsangke community is working to protect and restore the mangrove forest. By taking part in this tour, you will be helping to support this important work.

Morning Session: 8:10 am to 12:00 pm
Afternoon Session: 1:40 am to 5:30 pm

If you are the only person signed up for a tour, we charge a private tour fee for $49. This allows you to have a tour guide all to yourself and tailor the experience to your specific interests.

Stop 1: Pedaling through villages to Trapangsangke

From Butterfly Tours’ office, we bike through off-road areas and villages. Here we observe rice farmers doing farm work and see domestic animals such as cows, buffalos, and so on.

Stop 2: Arriving at the community

Our experience continues. We talk with the local community guide and buy the mangrove trees and learn how Trapangsangke started. It takes about 20 minutes to walk around the beautiful stairs.

Stop 3: Boating

Let’s take a boat to the sea to plant mangrove trees. On the way, let’s enjoy taking pictures of the surrounding river’s view and fishing activities. This is a very relaxing and exciting way to get to the sea.

Stop 4: Planting and breathing in fresh air

The community leader will introduce us to where we can plant the mangrove, and at that point, it is a nice view. It’s time to take a deep breath, inhale the oxygen and recharge yourself after planting. We took photos of the sunset while learning about this area. We cycled back to our office after returning to the station.
