Stop 1: Spectacular Paddy Fields

As we cycle through Kampot’s paddy fields, you will be amazed at the scenery, and don’t forget to take pictures! You will also see paddy farmers at work, and if you are interested in harvesting or transplanting rice, you are welcome to do so. They are all very friendly and glad you visit their fields.

Stop 2:  Buddhist Temple

We hop on a bike after learning about rice agriculture to visit a pagoda. During our tour, we will learn about Cambodian Buddhism and its beliefs and practices since Angkor. We will also see local children who are attending elementary school on the pagoda campus. More information about Cambodian education will be provided.

Stop 3: Traditional Khmer Noodles

At our next stop, we will visit a local noodle maker. Your guide will tell you more about the processes involved in this trade, and you may choose to sample some yummy noodles if you wish!

Stop 4: Bamboo Basket Weaving

During our next stop, we will show you bamboo handmade baskets woven by local villagers. Meet the weavers and learn about this intricate craft, traditionally passed down from generation to generation.

Stop 5: Palm Tree Climbing and Palm Sugar

In Cambodia, there is a profession that few tourists ever get to see – palm tree climbing. For decades, these skilled workers have been responsible for maintaining the palm trees that dot the landscape.
On our final stop, you will meet one of these local climbers and learn about his life and work. You will be amazed at his skill in climbing the trees and his knowledge of the palm tree industry. This is a rare opportunity to see a side of Cambodia that most tourists never get to experience.
